Chief Omni-Channel Officer, Oisix ra daichi Inc.

He joined Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. (MUJI) in 1997 and gained extensive experience across a variety of functions, including retail operations, an overseas assignment with a trading company in Germany, World MUJI projects, and the company’s Design and Planning Division.

In 2005, as Category Manager for Apparel and Fashion Accessories, he developed the highly successful “Right-Angle Socks”, which became one of MUJI’s signature and best-selling products. In 2010, he was appointed General Manager of the E-Commerce Division, where he led the development of MUJI Passport, one of Japan’s pioneering customer engagement and loyalty platforms.

In October 2015, he joined Oisix ra daichi Inc. as Executive Officer and Chief Omni-Channel Officer (COCO), where he was responsible for integrating customer experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. In 2017, he founded Engagement Commerce Lab, and in 2018 became Co-CEO of Kokyaku Jikan Inc. (Customer Time Inc.), a consulting firm specializing in customer engagement and marketing transformation. Since 2020, he has also served as an advisor to Lazuli Inc.

He earned an MBA from the Graduate School of Commerce at Waseda University in 2010 and completed the doctoral coursework requirements at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Hitotsubashi University, in 2021.

He is the co-author of several influential books on customer engagement and modern marketing, including The New Fundamentals of Marketing: 4Ps × Engagement in the Age of Customer Connection and The World’s Most Advanced Marketing: Channel Shift Strategies for Customer-Centric Companies (both published by Nikkei BP).

He currently serves as a Board Member of the Japan Marketing Academy and is widely recognized as a leading expert in customer engagement, omnichannel strategy, and customer-centric business transformation.
