Chien Ning (Ariel) Ma is a Ph.D. student at Waseda University with over 10 years of experience in the printing industry, specializing in supply chain and production operations for FMCG label manufacturing. She has been involved in cross-border production and logistics networks across Asia (China, Vietnam, and Thailand) and has led label supply projects for global clients such as P&G, with an annual scale ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of labels. Her research focuses on operations management and supply chain optimization, addressing mass customization under high-mix low-volume environments based on the JPSCCD framework, extending from single-site systems to multi-site, multi-factory, and multi-delivery supply chain networks. She develops MILP-based models to support integrated decision-making in product configuration and equipment selection, aiming to balance profitability and operational flexibility.
